Exploring your own family history leads you on a journey that takes on many forms, but none so beautiful as photographs. I have throughout the year been privileged enough to scan and record the people and events in our grandmother's photo albums which managed to survive the second world war and a journey to Australia as a displaced person.
Most of the photographs are the work of Ernest Neumann her father, a camera importer living in Warsaw, Poland, who would seem was also very talented photographer in his own right the composition and attention to detail are something that can be clearly seen even in the most casual of family snapshots.
We have recorded the fun of summer holidays on the beach, the enjoyment of the Sunday outings with family and friends, but most importantly we have used the photographs to tell the story of that era.
